Our November sermon series takes a look at some of Jesus’ teaching from the Gospels which can be hard. Hard to understand or hard to put into practice, or both! Jesus’ call to take up our cross and follow him comes at a cost but the benefits are always rich, deep and wide as we surrender every area of our lives to him.
This is an opportunity to talk to the church about the joy and cost of being a disciple of Jesus, to explore what it is to accept him as Saviour and Lord. Those preaching should not only explore Jesus’ teaching but should also explore the tension points internally in our hearts and wills which stop us from living the Jesus way (even though we know we should!) and the push back from culture which mean these teachings will be met with resistance.
