The last two years have challenged hope for many people. One result of this has been an increase in poor mental health, with many people suffering anxiety and depression.

Mental health has carried huge stigma over the years, but Christians are not immune from poor mental health any more than poor physical health. But God, through the Bible, offers help and hope!

In this three week series, we look at what the Bible says about these issues.

Heart of David

Heart of David

The lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people.

1 Samuel 13:14

David is not perfect by any means. We see his flaws and may even dislike aspects of his character. What redeems him, and is redemptive in every human life, is his heart for God.

In this series, using the accounts of David’s life, as well as the revelations of his heart we read in the Psalms, we’ll explore what it was about the heart of David that God saw and loved and how we can develop that same heart.

‘Church’ has been very different throughout the pandemic.

It’s great to be able to gather together again as a church community but why is it so important to do church together, and more importantly to be church together?

What is the purpose of sharing our lives with each other and why is it something we should pursue?

We’ll be exploring that in our series ‘Together’ by looking at the metaphors used for the church in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

Choose Joy

Choose Joy

Joy Philippians June 2021.png

Paul’s letter to the Philippians is so full of joy!

He writes:

  • I always pray with joy (1:4)

  • Christ is preached and because of this I rejoice! (1:18)

  • You too should be glad and rejoice with me. (2:18)

  • You are my joy and my crown. (4:1)

  • Rejoice in the Lord always. I say it again: Rejoice! (4:4)

The incredible thing about this letter is that Paul was in prison when he was writing it! Even though his life was by no means easy, he was filled with joy and kept encouraging the Philippians to rejoice with him.

Join us for our Choose Joy series as we look at how can we be filled with that same joy today.
